What is the payWave contactless function?

PayWave is the trademark under which the Visa payment organisation has been marketing a so-called contactless technology whereby payments can be executed in shops by placing a card close to a special reader. With this technology, the cardholder has a quick, convenient and safe alternative to cash while making small purchases. You can pay for fast food, petrol, newspapers and many other things this way.

Nordea Visa Classic is an international credit card with the contactless payWave capability.

It offers a possibility to make non-cash payments at more than 20 million merchants all over the world. The payWave function is a new way to pay for daily purchases of low amount – up to PLN 50. To make the payment, just wave the card close to a „proximity” reader.

You can also use the card to withdraw cash from cash machines in Poland and anywhere in the world.
