Electronic signature

Nordea Bank Polska, working with its technological partner Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych S.A., is the first bank in Poland to provide its customers with an option to use a safe electronic signature facility within its e-Banking system.

The qualified e-signature certificate implemented by the bank is from the legal point of view equivalent to a signature written by hand.

E-signature can be used by our private and corporate customers. We offer all those interested a simplified procedure of acquiring an electronic signature at competitive prices.

Expected benefits:

Future benefits depend on the decision of our legislators and the actions of the public administration after the implementation of the rules governing the use of the electronic signature: the Law on the Computerization of Entities Carrying out Public Duties and the Electronic Signature Law. As the electronic signature is a legally sanctioned form of authentication on the Internet, the customers can take advantage of a number of facilities. They can:

• exchange documents with offices, banks, insurance companies, etc., through electronic channels (e-taxes, e-policies, e-reports; e-offices), etc.
• file applications regarding administrative matters through electronic channels (e-application)
• use the same e-signature to authenticate transactions in the e-banking system
• issue e-invoices
• carry out safe electronic transactions through the Internet
• electronically sign declarations of will and documents in legal and commercial dealings (electronic documents sent to offices, banks, brokerage houses, institutions, businesses and private individuals), conclude agreements though the Internet (an e-signature will be equivalent to a handwritten signature)
• exchange documents with business partners through electronic channels
• sign bids in auctions and Internet-based tenders
• encrypt e-mails and confidential information.
