2010-05-31
Nordea Bank Polska has won the Pomeranian Business Griffin Award 2010. The statuette of the Griffin is awarded to the best businesses of the Pomerania region, distinguished by their profits and dynamic growth.
The results of the competition were announced at the Final Gala at Dwór Artusa. Gdynia-based Nordea Bank came first in the category of the largest companies of the Pomerania region.
The chapter of the award, headed by the Chief Officer of the Provincial Government and the Governor of the Pomerania Province, honours dynamic firms, which improve their performance regardless of the economic climate and whose operations are characterised by transparency and integrity, contributing at the same time to the good image of and the development of the province.
This year’s edition, eleventh now, has been organized by the Pomeranian Business Council, which supports the local government and state administration in business relations.
”We appreciate the value of the award and the formula of the competition primarily as a bank which works with local governments on a daily basis. We are glad that the award is based on such measureable criteria as the growth rate, increase in employment or investment. Usually, it is us who analyse the financial standing of our municipal customers inside out. This time round, the local government officials who maintain relations with business have meticulously vetted our banking operations, which is proved by this Statuette.” said Sławomir Żygowski, Vice President of Nordea Bank for Corporate Business, who received the award for the Bank.
Nordea Bank Polska, based in Gdynia, is one of the fastest-growing banks in Poland. It serves its customers through 160 offices spread all over Poland. The bank has more than 500 staff in the Pomerania Province alone.
