2008-04-10

The electronic banking system of Nordea Bank Polska SA was awarded a European Medal by the Business Centre Club and the Office of the European Integration Committee.

Nordea is well-known, not only in Poland but also in Europe, for its state-of-the-art e-banking solution. In recent months, the bank has enabled access account also to the blind and poor-sighted. It was also the first bank to enable the use of electronic signature. It is these features that the organizers of the project appreciated.

”We try to regularly offer new solutions to our customers, to create new possibilities for them to use banking products and services. We are thus the more glad to be honoured with such a prestigious accolade as it is in recognition of our e-banking, and this is our third European Medal”, says Włodzimierz Kiciński, President of Nordea Bank Polska.

On behalf of the bank, the award was collected by Małgorzata Adamczyk, Head of the Internet Branch. The handing of medals and diplomas for the laureates of the 16th edition of European Medal took place on April 8, 2008.

The European Medal is a non-commercial Polish project aimed at acknowledging and promoting products and services whose quality matches European standards and which are offered by companies operating in Poland. Nominated products and services must meet the regulatory standards, have appropriate licences, patents, etc. The reviewing committee also considers the speed of growth of the company, awards and certificates received and also how the company prepared itself for Poland’s accession to the European Union.
